Economists and Strategists
Vice President, Market Strategy
Marius Jongstra is a Vice President of Market Strategy at Rosenberg Research. Marius is instrumental in building and maintaining the firm’s financial models and co-authors the monthly Strategizer publication. He also plays a pivotal role in the daily research and construction of our internal market indices.
Prior to joining the firm, Marius spent more than three years at Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc., during which time he supported David Rosenberg in the research and publication of Breakfast with Dave, as well as helping the firm’s top-down investment approach.
Marius holds a Master of Finance degree from Queen’s University as well as an H.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University. He also has completed both Level I and II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
Bhawana Chhabra, CFA
Senior Market Strategist
Bhawana is a Senior Market Strategist at Rosenberg Research. Her focus is on market fundamentals, equity pricing models, and earnings analysis. Bhawana contributes to Rosenberg Research’s coverage of pertinent themes and broader global research.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Bhawana worked as an Equity Strategist and Economist in India for over a decade, where she focused on sector and asset allocation through a combination of macro-economic and equity fundamentals-based lens.
Bhawana is a CFA Charterholder since 2018, with an MBA from IMI, India. She has also finished an executive program in Advance Data Science from the Rotman School of Management, at the University of Toronto.
Dylan Smith is a Senior Economist at Rosenberg Research. His focus is on developing the firm’s macroeconomic insights and conviction views, and he plays a key role in the production of the firm’s topical and thematic research.
Dylan joined Rosenberg Research from McKinsey & Co., where he centered his consulting services on the asset management and private funds industries, while also providing macroeconomic expertise to senior partners and clients. Prior to McKinsey, Dylan spent five years as an economist in Goldman Sachs’ Global Investment Research division in London, UK.
Dylan holds an MPhil in Economics from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
Economist & Strategist
Aneel Samra is an Economist at Rosenberg Research. Aneel is responsible for data analysis, publishing high-level market research, writing in-depth strategy reports, and assisting in the daily publication process.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Aneel worked as a Research Analyst for the Bank Credit Analyst, where he focused on global asset allocation.
Aneel holds an MBA from Queen’s University as well as an Honors Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University. Currently, Aneel is a CFA level 2 candidate.
Atakan Bakiskan is a Junior Economist at Rosenberg Research. He assists in the creation of presentations for Dave and in the daily publication processes, including research, writing in-depth reports, editing, fact-checking and statistical analysis.
Atakan graduated with a Master of Arts in Economics at the University of Toronto in 2022, and a Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto in the Economics and Mathematics Specialist program in 2021. While in university, Atakan was a Teaching Assistant at University of Toronto for several advanced economics courses including Advanced Macroeconomic Theory and Money, Banking and Financial Markets.
Paul Kim is a Senior Analyst at Rosenberg Research. He assists the team in the daily publication processes, including research, editing, fact-checking, preparing presentations, and running statistical analysis.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Paul was a Master of Arts Student in Economics at the University of Toronto, which he graduated from in 2023. During that time, he was a Teaching Assistant for first year Economics courses and a course in financial markets.
He also holds a Bachelor of Sciences from the University of Toronto, where he double majored in Economics and Statistics, as well as a minor in Mathematics.
Nwal is a Junior Analyst at Rosenberg Research. She is responsible for editing our publications, constructing slides and charts, helping with client data requests, and providing research support for the senior economics and strategy team.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Nwal worked as a Research Intern with QuadReal Property Group where she focused on macroeconomic analysis and market trends associated with commercial real estate asset classes.
Nwal holds an H.B.A from the University of Toronto in Economics and Statistics with a focus in Data Analytics and is a CFA Level I candidate.
Executive Vice President, Client Relations & Operations
Jacob Rosenberg is Rosenberg Research’s Executive Vice President, Client Relations & Operations. He oversees the firm’s client satisfaction initiative and manages all of David’s online presentations, webcasts, and interviews.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Jacob worked in the video game industry as an audio designer as well as in several client relations related roles across industries.
Jacob holds an MMus in Music Technology and Digital Media from the University of Toronto and a B.A. in Economics from McGill University.
Senior Vice President, Research Sales
Keith Godinho is Rosenberg Research’s Senior Vice President, Research Sales with a primary focus on the firm’s sales and renewals process and provides information related to all the firm’s product offerings.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Keith worked with David Rosenberg and his Research Team at Gluskin Sheff for nine years as a Compliance Officer reviewing Breakfast with Dave and was responsible for monitoring compliance and risk at the fund and client portfolio level. Prior to that, he was a Manager, Compliance and Analytics at State Street overseeing portfolio compliance across various hedge funds and pension funds with a focus on Credit and Derivatives risk monitoring.
Keith received a Bachelor of Accounting & Finance degree from Ryerson University.
Director of Technology
Dinesh Vel is the Director of Technology for Rosenberg Research. Dinesh is responsible for handling the firm’s data analytics and technological requirements.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Dinesh was a Business Solutions Manager at RBC where he streamlined many of the firm’s regulatory reporting processes. He also worked as a Program Manager at Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc. where he led and oversaw the operations of the Investment Technology team.
Dinesh holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science and Statistics from the University of Waterloo.
Rachael Zbar is a Corporate Director overseeing the company’s legal, financial, and HR affairs.
She is a former Social Worker and has a history of extensive volunteer service in the local community.
Rachael holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto.
Vandhana Parthasarathy is a Data Analyst with a focus on sales enablement and systems optimization.
Before joining Rosenberg Research, Vandhana worked as a software engineer at Infosys for three years, where she focused on Mainframe development projects.
Vandhana holds an MBA in Operations Management from Brock University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Anna University.
Sofia Dorrell is a Marketing Associate with Rosenberg Research. She is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies, social media campaigns, and securing visibility and growth for the firm.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, she worked as a Literary Editor, Arts and Culture Researcher, Social Media Manager, and Brand Management Specialist. She has over 6 years’ experience delivering quality insights and analysis for Toronto businesses.
Client Relations Representative
Adam Sharvit is a Client Relations Representative at Rosenberg Research, with a focus on client service, sales, and renewals within the firm.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Adam worked in the Investor Relations field at Hybrid Financial and Virtus Advisory Group, where he gained significant experience working with financial advisors, mutual fund and hedge fund managers, and high net worth individuals. Adam is focused on liaising with clients and ensuring that questions and issues are addressed promptly.
Adam received a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University in the field of Accounting & Finance with a primary focus on the financial sector.
Client Relations Representative
Josh Johnson is a Client Relations Representative at Rosenberg Research. He focuses on providing excellent client service and assisting in company growth initiatives.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Josh worked at CI Financial as a relationship manager to private wealth advisors under the CI Private Wealth Canada business. This role provided him with strong experience in understanding and developing solutions that properly address the needs and complexity UHNW clients face in asset management and financial planning.
Josh holds an MBA from Liberty University.
Alexandra Delle Donne
Alexandra Delle Donne is the Administrative Associate with Rosenberg Research. She is responsible for day to day operations, assisting with incoming and outgoing communications, and happily assisting with any internal and external requests.
Prior to joining Rosenberg Research, Alexandra worked in corporate administration and management with RGN Management at a co-working facility in Toronto, ON. She has 5+ years of experience in customer service, and also worked as a social media liaison with Amplified Opera and the University of Toronto Music Faculty.
Alexandra holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto in Historical Voice Performance, and still performs classical/operatic music within the GTA.
Technical Analysis Consultant
Walter Murphy is a Technical Analysis Consultant to Rosenberg Research.
His career began at Standard & Poor’s in 1977, where, in seven years, he headed up the Equity Research department’s Utility Industry team before becoming Manager of the department.
Walter joined Merrill Lynch in 1984 in the acclaimed Market Analysis department under the leadership of Bob Farrell and eventually became a Director and Senior International Market Analyst.
From 2009 to 2017, Walter penned both a weekly blog and a monthly review of the various markets under the Walter Murphy’s Insights banner.
Walter graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a BA in Political Science. He also holds an MBA in Finance from Babson College. Walter became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 1981.
Jeff Burchell is a Senior Advisor to Rosenberg Research. Jeff provides the firm with advice on matters relating to business development.
Jeff has more than two decades of experience in the investment management industry. His roles have included Co-CIO of a multi-billion dollar asset manager and portfolio manager of a diverse range of North America- focused equity investment strategies and products spanning multiple asset classes, including risk arbitrage, market neutral and long-short equity, and long only portfolios.
Jeff has served as an independent director on the boards of two public companies. His board work has overseen executive transitions, raising of public capital and IPO management. In addition, he has both chaired and served on audit, governance and compensation committees.
He received an MBA and Law degree from Dalhousie University and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
